A WEDDING AT CWMFFRADACH – AN INVITATION TO YOU ALL! The Troed-y-Rhiw Company will be returning to Neuadd yr Ysgol with a new performance on the 21st of February 2009 at 7.30pm

Rhyw ddwy filltir yr ochr draw i fan hyn a rhyw dri chwarter milltir o fan draw y mae cymdogaeth Cwmffradach. Wrth ei chalon mae pentre sy’n debyg i bob pentre Cymraeg arall. Ac eto, does dim unman cweit yr un peth i gael – diolch fyth!

Mae’n siwr i chi glywed sôn am ddigwyddiadau ofnadwy – Eisteddfod Cwmffradach. Diar-diar, y fath dyrn-owt. Ifan Gruffydd (Tregaron) druan yn trio cadw trefn ar y fath rabsgaliwns o gystadleuwyr di-wardd – yn enwedig y ddou grwt bach oedd mewn a mas a lan a lawr o’u penole drwy’r nos. Drwy’r nos! A druan bach ag e, ar ben y cyfan i gyd bu raid iddo ymdopi â’r ddwy fam yma yn cledro’r beirniad canu oedd wedi gwneud cam â’u cywion bach gwyn. Diar-diar-diar. ‘Na beth oedd steddfod i’w hanghofio. Ofnadwy! – os nad y’ch chi’r teip sydd ffili stopo wherthin o weld popeth yn mynd o whith.

Ac os mai dyna’r teip y’ch chi wel, falle y byddwch chi’n barod i fentro nôl i Gwmffradach, y tro hwn i weld Priodas y Flwyddyn yno. Mwy na hynny does dim modd i fi ‘weud ar hyn o bryd – ar ddymuniad y ddau deulu. Ond priodas fawr gyhoeddus fydd hon ac mae croeso i bawb ohonoch yn cynnwys y plant i fod yn bresennol – os y’ch chi’n perthyn iddo fe neu hi neu’r un ohonynt!

Os y’ch chi’n meddwl dod, cofiwch wisgo’n addas ar gyfer diwrnod mawr y ddeuddyn – druan â nhw. ‘Na ni, falle eith popeth yn iawn. Yn sbesial. Yn ‘sbot-on’ fel wedodd ein gweinidog (ein diweddar gweinidog hynny yw) cyn iddo faglid wrth drio profi dihangfa dân newydd y festri (rheolau Iechyd a Diogelwch). Ar y llaw arall, o gofio digwyddiadau ‘steddfod Cwmffradach – falle ddim!

Cwmffradach is situated some two miles the other side of here and three quarter of a mile to the other side! The place is essentially the same as any other Welsh village. However, there is no where quite like it – thankfully!

I’m sure you’ve heard of the events of the Eisteddfod Cwmffradach. Dear – Dear what a turn out. Ifan Gruffydd (Tregaron) attempted to keep order on the mischievous competitors, paricularly the two naughty boys that were out of their seats all evening. Poor Ifan and to top it all he had to contend with two disgruntled mothers who had cornered the adjuicator. That was an Eisteddfod to forget – unless of course you are the type of person who sees the funny side of things and cannot stop laughing when things go wrong.

If you are this type of person then you may dare to return to Cwmffradach to attend the wedding of the year. However, I cannot elaborate as I’m under the strict instruction from the family of the bride and groom. But I can say that it will be a lavish occassion and you are all invited children included – if your related to the bride or groom or neither of them!

If you are intending to attend remember to wear an appropriate outfit for the occassion. Things may turn out ok, splendidly, ‘spot on’ as the reverend stated (the late reverend that is) before he stumbled whilst testing out the fire escape as a result of new health and safety regulations. On the other hand if the events of Eisteddfod Cwmffradach are anything to go by – maybe not!

THE CWMFFRADACH WEDDING – a new production by the Troed-y-Rhiw Theatr at Neuadd yr Ysgol Llanfihangel-ar-Arth Saturday 21st of February 2009 at 7.30pm Tickets £5 for children and £2 for children.
